Gwinnett comic book shop holding event honoring life of Stan Lee

A Buford comic shop will honor the life of legendary comic book author Stan Lee, who died in November, this week.

Galactic Quest will welcome fans of all ages to its Sudderth Road location Friday evening to talk about Lee’s work, including co-creating beloved superheroes like Spider-Man, the X-Men and Black Panther. Lee worked for Marvel Comics for more than 50 years, and continued to make cameos in movies based off his creations until his death earlier this year.

Friday, Dec. 28, would have been Lee’s 96th birthday. Metro Atlanta fans can mark that occasion from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Galactic Quest, according to a Facebook event, and costumes are not frowned upon.

Galactic Quest is located at 4264 Sudderth Road in Buford.
