The Gwinnett County Animal Shelter will have one less hour for weekday adoptions in 2020, according to a newly announced schedule.

The shelter is tweaking its hours starting on Jan. 1 “to better care for the pets in the shelter while serving the residnents of Gwinnett,” said Alan Davis, director of Gwinnett Animal Welfare and Enforcement, in a release. Weekday hours will shift from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday to noon to 6 p.m. the same days. Weekend hours of 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays will remain the same.

The shelter is offering free adoptions through the rest of 2019. It will be closed on New Years Day and reopen on Jan. 2.
