Police in five metro Atlanta counties Tuesday were seeking the public’s help apprehending a man suspected of robbing at gunpoint about 20 Burger King restaurants as well as multiple KFCs and Taco Bells.

Burger King is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the man, who stuck up six Burger Kings in Gwinnett County alone, according to the Gwinnett County Police Department.

Stores also have been hit in Clayton, Cobb, DeKalb and Fulton counties, police said.

“Through comparing surveillance footage and detailed accounts of the suspect’s description, it is believed that a single suspect is responsible for all of these incidents,” Gwinnett police said in a news release.

The suspect is described as a dark-skinned black male, about 5 feet 5 inches to 5 feet 9 inches tall, with a muscular build and tattoos on one and possibly both forearms, police said. He has a short haircut and diamond earrings and is armed with a large black handgun.

The heists began at the end of April, and the most recent one occurred about 8:30 p.m. July 20 at a Burger King on Thornton Road in Lithia Springs, according to Gwinnett police Detective Brendon Pix.

Most of the stick-ups occurred in the morning, with “four or five in the evening or nighttime as a business was about to close,” Pix said.

The same individual is believed also to have robbed one or two KFCs and at least two Taco Bells, Pix said. No one has been hurt so far.

In a number of instances, the robber was seen leaving in a 1997 to 2002, two-toned, black and gray Buick Regal GS, police said.

Anyone with information about the suspect is asked to call Gwinnett police detectives at 770-513-5300 or Crime Stoppers Atlanta, 404 577-TIPS (8477).
