A hand grenade was found Monday afternoon in a northwest Atlanta neighborhood, authorities said.
An Atlanta police SWAT team and Atlanta firefighters came to 2700 block of Northside Drive just after 4 p.m., and disposed of the grenade, Atlanta police spokesman Otis Redmond said.
The streets surrounding that block of Northside and along Wesley Drive were closed off for a short period of time, but have been reopened, authorities said.
It is unclear where the grenade came from or whether it was live.
