Help needed preparing for book swap

Kennesaw Parks & Recreation department is looking for volunteers to help the annual book, CD, and DVD swap. Assistance is needed during the event with receiving, sorting, counting and bagging items. Volunteers must have the ability to bend, stoop, stand and lift up to 20 pounds.

This is not a book sale. It is a FREE media swap. Items will not be available for purchase. After the event, all unclaimed items will be donated to charitable organizations.

Where: Ben Robertson Community Center, 2753 Watts Drive, Kennesaw

When: The event is 8 - 11 a.m. Jan. 9, but volunteers will be needed noon to 8 p.m. Jan. 7 and 8

Personal shoppers wanted

The Center for the Visually Impaired is seeking volunteers to be personal shoppers to visit clients at their residences to provide assistance with predetermined personal services such as grocery shopping, retail stores, doctors’ appointments, banks, post offices etc.

Must have be at least 25, with a driver’s licence. All volunteers must fill out necessary paperwork and attend an orientation and training session.
