A gas main break blocked all lanes of traffic on Ashford Dunwoody Road and Johnson Ferry Road for more than five hours Thursday, according to authorities.

The Brookhaven Police Department tweeted the news of the gas main break and indefinite road closure around 2 p.m. About an hour later, the city of Brookhaven announced that a town hall meeting scheduled for 6:30 p.m. at the Marist School was cancelled, as were the evening's little league activities at nearby Murphey Candler Park.

Shortly before 10 p.m., Johnson Ferry and Ashford Dunwoody roads were open again, but Donaldson Drive remained closed.

Officer Carlos Nino, a spokesman for Brookhaven police, said Atlanta Gas Light will be working overnight most likely.
