The construction worker that fell to his death was identified Monday as a 31-year-old Gainesville man.

Carlos Rivera-Garcia died Saturday after falling 20 feet from a hydraulic lift at Benjamin E. Mays High School. Rivera-Garcia was part of a crew working on an addition to the southwest Atlanta school, which is being remodeled.

Investigators believe a metal pipe fell from the ceiling and landed on the lift holding Rivera-Garcia, causing him to fall to the pavement below.

Rivera-Garcia was employed by Shumate Air Conditioning and Heating.
