Fulton County prosecutors want former NBA player and Georgia Tech star Javaris Crittenton back in jail on a murder charge after his traffic arrest earlier this week.

The Fulton District Attorney’s office has filed a motion to revoke Crittenton’s bond as a result of his speeding and obstruction charges in Riverdale, a spokeswoman for District Attorney Paul Howard Jr. told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution on Friday.

Crittenton, 28, was out on $230,000 bond on accusations he shot and killed Jullian Jones, a 23-year-old Atlanta mother of four, in an Aug. 19 drive-by shooting. He has denied the allegations.

Crittenton's defense attorney, Brian Steel, said his client is innocent and has no intention of giving in to the DA's planned bond revocation.

"We’re going to do everything lawfully and ethically," Steel said late Friday by phone. "Mr. Crittenton has committed no crime of murder."

In the traffic incident Tuesday, Crittenton was going more than 60 mph in a 45 mph zone on Ga. 85 when he was pulled over, Riverdale police said.

The pro basketball player refused to sign the ticket or get out of his “fairly new” Porsche when ordered to do so by the officer, Riverdale police spokesman Maj. Greg Barney said.

"He just failed to cooperate altogether with the officer and wanted to be argumentative with the officer," Barney said.

Crittenton was released Wednesday from the Clayton County jail on $1,500 bond.

His murder case still awaits indictment.

Police have said they believe Crittenton shot Jones by mistake, trying to hit someone with her that August night that he believed robbed him of $50,000 in jewelry.

The conditions of his bond in the murder arrest prohibit him from leaving the country, owning firearms or having contacts with witnesses to the shooting, and require him to wear an ankle monitor. There is no language in the bond order expressly prohibiting him from being arrested.
