Fulton may extend animal services contract

On Wednesday the Fulton County Commission will consider extending its contract with countywide animal control services provider Barking Hound Village Foundation, which the panel has expressed displeasure with. The county has asked for proposals to find someone else for the job.

Owner David York came under scrutiny last year over a slew of restaurant and hotel charges in monthly spending reports. Then Barking Hound was less than forthcoming in a county audit, turning over redacted financial documents, according to county records. The contract extension would be for another six months, through June, at a price of $1.05 million.
