Ex-Fulton firefighter named Chamblee city manager
The Chamblee City Council voted unanimously Tuesday to hire a former Fulton County deputy fire chief to be the next city manager.
The Council selected Niles Ford as the top candidate for the city manager position and is now negotiating with him on a salary and start date, Interim City Manager Marc Johnson said. The salary range is $110,000-$130,000, Johnson said.
Ford currently serves as fire chief in Lincoln, Neb., a position that he has held since 2007 when he left Fulton.
The city received 107 applications for the position, which has been vacant since November. The Council interviewed five applicants and selected Ford as one of two finalists.
