Fulton County police are looking for two people in connection with the shooting death of a 51-year-old Monroe man at a Starship Enterprises.

Jeffrey Powers was shot and killed last Thursday outside the store in the 5300 block of Old National Highway, according to a police incident report obtained by the AJC.

Sgt. Scott McBride said investigators think Powers, who was found in the parking lot, was shot during an attempted robbery of the store.

"He went inside and made a purchase, and we believe there was an attempted robbery that ended badly," he said.

"We have two people of interest that we're seeking now," McBride said. Investigators continue to review surveillance tape that shows the two people by the store.

McBride said the two men may be linked to another robbery in the area.

They were seen leaving the store parking lot in a green Honda Accord.

Both men were described as black and about 20 years old. One was about 6 feet, 2 inches tall and 225 pounds. He was wearing a windbreaker and a baseball cap. The other was about 5 feet, 11 inches tall, 160 pounds, and was wearing jeans.
