Founder of Atlanta International School dies

The founding headmaster of Atlanta International School, M. Alexander Horsley, died Thursday after a battle with cancer, according to the school.

Mr. Horsley, 67, started the school in 1985, with 51 students. The native of Britain had taught in several countries. After running AIS for a decade, he moved to China to run the International School of Beijing.

AIS has grown to more than 1,000 students from over 70 countries. A new addition to the building is being named after him, and a memorial service will be held at the school at 2 p.m. on Jan. 14. Information: 404-841-3895.
