The next regularly scheduled meeting of the Forsyth County Parks & Recreation Board will brief residents and give them a chance to comment on an updated master plan for Eagle’s Beak Park.

The meeting is set for 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 7, at the Fowler Park Recreation Center, 4110 Carolene Way, Cumming. “We encourage residents to attend the meeting and provide input on the design,” said Parks & Recreation Director Jim Pryor.

Eagle’s Beak Park, a passive park, opened in August 2017 at 8420 Old Federal Road, Ball Ground. The 26-acre facility has a canoe-kayak launch on the Etowah River, a 1.3-mile nature trail, picnic tables and restrooms.

The county bought most of the land in 2009 with money from a 2008 parks and green space bond issue. Its $1.36 million construction cost was funded by the bond issue and SPLOST money.
