The Forsyth County School District has named two educators to lead a high school and a middle school to open in August 2021.
Jeff Cheney, principal of North Forsyth High School since 2015, will become principal of East Forsyth High School, being built off Jot Em Down Road and Claude Martin Drive in the county’s northeast corner. Cheney previously served as assistant principal at South Forsyth High and was promoted to principal in 2012. Before coming to Forsyth in 2006, Cheney was a teacher and administrator in the Savannah-Chatham schools.
Cheryl Riddle, principal of Liberty Middle School since 2015, will be principal of Hendricks Middle School, going up along Hyde Road in western Forsyth. Riddle joined the district in 1999 as a special education teacher at Chattahoochee Elementary, transferred to Liberty when it opened in 2002, taught at North Forsyth Middle, and served as a special education facilitator at the district level and as assistant principal at North Forsyth Middle and Little Mill Middle.
