The Forsyth County Animal Shelter has a new director. Cynthia Iacopella will join Forsyth County staff on June 19.

County officials said Iacopella will coordinate and manage shelter personnel, oversee animal care, supervise upkeep of the shelter facility and the animal adoption process and will oversee community outreach facilities.

Officials said Iacopella has more than 20 years of experience in the animal welfare field, most recently serving as director of adoptions for Angels Among Us pet rescue.

The shelter’s just off Ga. 400 at 4065 County Way in North Forsyth and is open for adoptions from 10:30 a.m. until 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.
