Former Stone Mountain High employee pleads guilty of stealing $23,000

Oct 14, 2011

Chyrokessia Rucks, a former book keeper, who stole nearly $23,000 from Stone Mountain High School, pled guilty to theft charges in a DeKalb County Superior Court Thursday.

An internal audit by the DeKalb County School System found financial mismanagement from 2009 until 2011. Judge Michael Hancock sentenced Rucks to 15 years probation and ordered her to repay the balance of the money stolen. DeKalb District Attorney Robert James said Rucks has already repaid $10,752.

“It’s sad that this woman would steal from children and try to hide her wrongdoings,” James said.
