Oakbrook Parkway, a major roadway in Gwinnett County, was closed for several hours Friday  morning because rainwater flooded the road where improvements were under way on a storm drain.

Joe Sorenson with the Gwinnett Department of Water Resources said the contractor had pumped out the water so the road could be reopened.

The project involved replacing galvanized pipe in the area.
