The Cobb County Board of Commissioners will hold two public hearings on code changes at 9 a.m. July 12 and 7 p.m. July 23 in the second floor meeting room, 100 Cherokee St., Marietta.

During Tuesday’s work session, Dana Johnson, director of the county’s Community Development Agency, and County Attorney Deborah Dance presented recommendations to the commissioners on county code proposals and the code amendment process.

In a Tuesday memo, Johnson and Dance said the code changes would affect administration; alcoholic beverages; licenses, permits and businesses; manufactured homes and trailers; nuisances and zoning.

However, when reading through the package many of the changes concern sign regulations and placement.

So far, the package is 33 pages - unlike the February package with 69 pages of approved code amendments.

In addition to regulations on Atlanta Braves parking, the February package addressed sections on tailgating, food trucks and vendors, accessory special event parking, ticket brokers and solicitation and distribution on public arterial and collector roads.

Those changes would affect SunTrust Park, Cobb Performing Arts Center, Mable House Barnes Amphitheatre, Cobb Galleria, Jim Miller Park, Cobb County Civic Center, Roxy Theatre (next to SunTrust Park) and Fifth Third Bank Stadium.

The February code changes can be found at CobbCounty.org/images/documents/February_2016_Approved_Code_Amendments.pdf.
