As part of a larger marketing effort in Fayette County, the city of Fayetteville debuted a new blue-and-white logo at its City Council meeting recently.

Designed by the same company that created the county’s new “Create Your Story” logo, the city’s version includes both its name and its founding year, 1823. City Manager Ray Gibson said the date emphasizes that “historic preservation is important here in Fayetteville,” but said the city is also “ready to move forward with the times.”

The new logo will be used on documents, websites, social media and on economic development and tourism materials, although the original city seal will still be used for “various official uses.”
