Fayetteville’s development agreement with the new Pinewood Forest property off Veterans Parkway has been amended with the consent of the City Council.

The council voted 4-0-1 (with Paul Oddo absent) on Jan. 17 to revise several provisions within the original agreement for the 237-acre mixed-use development. The first allows Pinewood Forest to create an indoor/outdoor event center, which will be available for public rental for weddings and other occasions. The second revision will allow 100 residential accessory dwellings, previously limited to property owner use, to be offered as rental units.

Two other changes relate to the installation and composition of sidewalks and multi-use paths to enhance connectivity within the development.
