Fayette County Public Schools has begun plans for several major school renovations in 2018. The Board of Education gave its consent on Dec. 11 to begin seeking a construction management firm and preparing requests for proposals. Approximately $16 million is allocated for construction at Fayette County High School, with work getting underway next April and finishing by August 2019. Another $11 million will go to J. C. Booth Middle School for approximately the same time period. The LaFayette Educational Center will be expanded and updated for about $3 million, with work spanning spring through fall 2018.
