Former Huddleston Elementary School assistant principal Jamie Voorhies has been named by the Fayette County Board of Education to become principal of Kedron Elementary in Peachtree City.

Voorhies succeeds Julie Turner, who was recently promoted to be the county’s assistant superintendent of student achievement. Voorhies, who has worked in the Fayette system for six years, previously taught at Fayetteville Intermediate School and Spring Hill Elementary, and received the Outstanding Assistant Principal of the Year award from the Georgia Association of Elementary School Principals in 2017.
