Fayette County’s Board of Commissioners has approved the creation of a new transportation committee to explore traffic-related issues and provide information and recommendations to county staff and elected officials.

The board voted 5-0 Dec. 10 to adopt an ordinance that sets terms for organizing and populating the advisory committee, and also establish meeting requirements.

The 12-member committee will help coordinate projects between the county and other municipalities, and represent the county’s interests to state and regional authorities.
