Farmville is burning, officials said Monday.
Before you rush off to rescue your Facebook plantation, know that this Farmville is an unincorporated area in Gordon County, located in northwest Georgia.
There, officials say a brush fire spread to about 150 acres before firefighters from multiple agencies were able to corral it.
"We've got a line around it," said Gordon County Emergency Management Director Richard Cooper. "We're putting water on hot spots. Right now the wind is what we've got to worry about."
The fire started at about 1 p.m. when a spark from a mower ignited some grass, said Cooper.
Some homes east of Calhoun were threatened, but no structures were damaged, said Cooper.
About 50 firefighters from Gordon, Bartow and Whitfield counties, Calhoun, Dalton and the Georgia Forestry Commission fought the blaze.
