Eyelash extensions are the new thing, apparently.

Robin Givhan, a fashion critic for The Wahsington Post, recently wrote that "big, spiky, dramatic" false eyelashes helped turn Kim Kardashian into a reality-show star and "dense fluffy ones" are essential to Adele's glamour.

Soon, folks in north Fulton County will have easy access to this trendy beauty accessory with the April 24 opening of The Lash Lounge in Sandy Springs. The Texas-based company founded by Anna Phillips, a former massage therapist for Google, in 2006 specializes in semi-permanent eyelash extensions in an “upscale and luxurious” salon.

The Sandy Springs location — at 4600 Roswell Road, Suite #E140 in the Gateway Center — is the first Lash Lounge in Georgia and the company’s 16th salon in the U.S. The franchise will be operated by a husband and wife duo from metro Atlanta, Bob and Cathy Snyder.

“Bob and I are focused on providing low-maintenance beauty routines for our clients to simplify their everyday lives and give them the convenience of effortless glamour,” Cathy Snyder said in a statement. “We’re looking forward to making a positive impact on our guests by raising their self-confidence through gorgeous eyes that look totally natural.”

At Lash Lounge, each client's extensions are a customized design based on their eye shape and preference for eyelash length, thickness, curl and desired fullness. The Lash Lounge also offers eyebrow threading, permanent makeup, lash and eyebrow tinting, and lash lifts.

The Sandy Springs' location plans to add microblading to their services in the future, too.
