Traffic alert: Expect delays all day Thursday in East Cobb

The Cobb County-Marietta Water Authority’s East Cobb Pipeline project is nearing completion with a major milestone this week.
Weather permitting, on Thursday, the authority’s pipeline crews will be completing the installation of the aerial crossing over Sope Creek along Lower Roswell Road, according to a county statement.
After the morning rush hour, crews will be welding the steel pipeline section to span the creek.
Cranes will be set up to hoist the long span of pipeline into place.
Once activities begin, work will be continuous until complete.
The authority expects this work, which will restrict Lower Roswell Road to alternating one-way traffic, to occur from 9 a.m. through the afternoon rush.
