Gwinnett County emergency responders treated three people from a car that rolled into a lake near Suwanee on Friday afternoon.
The incident happened about 5:30 p.m. on Richland Parkway at Prosperity Way, authorities said.
“It was an auto accident caused by a medical condition, resulting in an automobile rollover into the lake at that location,” Lt. Eric Eberly, spokesman for Gwinnett County Fire and Emergency Services, said in an email to the AJC.
The car plunged into Deer Lake, but its three occupants were able to escape and were out of the water by the time rescuers arrived. Two of the three were taken to Gwinnett Medical Center. The victims' identities were not immediately available.
“The injuries are not believed serious, but it was very cold,” Gwinnett police Cpl. Jake Smith told the AJC.
