Georgia-born poet D.A. Powell is placing his papers with Emory University's Manuscript, Archives, and Rare Book Library, officials announced Thursday.
Powell has won multiple awards for his work, which references nuanced topics such as religion and AIDS. He is scheduled to give a reading and sign books Wednesday at the Woodruff Library on campus.
The rare book library library already houses papers from other Georgia writers, including James Dickey, David Bottoms and Frank Manley.
