East Point budget balance allows for millage adoption

In the special called meeting starting at 6:30 p.m. Monday, East Point hopes to finally adopt the millage rate for the fiscal year, which has not changed since last year. The main focus of this meeting, taking place at Jefferson Station Council Chambers, 1526 East Forrest Avenue, Suite 400, is adoption of the same millage rate after the required public hearing, now that the city’s budget has been adopted. Although the millage rate is the same, many properties have been valued higher than previously, thus many residents will see an increase in their taxes. City residents are encouraged to attend and participate in discussing this issue.
