Dunwoody police seek patio furniture thief

It might be a little harder to sit outside at some Dunwoody eateries, thanks to a suspected patio furniture thief.

Investigators hope surveillance camera images released Monday will help catch the man they believe is responsible for stealing the furniture, Sgt. Mike Carlson with Dunwoody police said.

The most recent theft happened shortly before 6 a.m. Friday at O'Brian's Tavern on Mount Vernon Road, according to police. The tavern's camera captured images of a man in his middle 30s, wearing glasses, a dark T-shirt and jeans removing patio sets.

Four sets of patio furniture were removed in the early-morning heist, according to police.

At least three other restaurants have also been hit, Carlson said. Patio furniture has also been reported stolen from Allison's Restaurant, on Chamblee Dunwoody Road, Carvel Ice Cream Shop on Jett Ferry Road and Take Japanese Steakhouse on Ashford Dunwoody Road, according to police.

Anyone with information about the thefts is asked to contact Sgt. Gary Cortellino at 678-382-6908 or gary.cortellino@dunwoodyga.gov. Anonymous tips can be sent to police from the Dunwoody Police Department website, www.dunwoodypolice.com.
