The Duluth Police Department will hold two seminars designed to prepare civilians to react properly in case of an active shooter situation.

The Civilian Response to Active Shooter Events course is based on a strategy of “avoid, deny, defend,” according to a department release. The course will prepare people to react in case of an active shooter situation at work or in other public places.
