Loosen your belts and ready your wetnaps -- there's an approximate opening date for Dreamland Bar-B-Que's new downtown Duluth location.

Duluth economic development manager Chris McGahee said Monday that the regional barbecue chain -- which hasn't had a Gwinnett presence since its Peachtree Corners location burned down in 2013 -- hopes to open doors near Main and West Lawrenceville streets  "sometime in June." Officials broke ground on the site, the 1950s-era former warehouse for the Parson's retail chain, in November 2014.

The new restaurant will occupy 6,500 square feet and include outdoor dining.

The development is part of a much larger project aimed at revitalizing downtown Duluth. Dreamland will anchor "The Block," a restaurant and retail hub near the city's town green.

Much of the area will remain under construction for the next year-plus, but McGahee said parking, a "public plaza" and a "common area" should be ready to go when Dreamland opens.
