No students were on a Hall County school bus that a pickup truck hit head-on Wednesday morning in the second school bus crash in two days in the county, authorities said.

Hall County schools spokesman Gordon Higgins told Channel 2 Action News that bus driver Rebecca Richardson had just dropped off her load of students at Chestatee High School and was returning home when the 8:30 a.m. accident happened.

Higgins said it appears that the pickup truck crossed the center line on Price Road near Elrod Road and hit the bus head-on.

Richardson and the unidentified driver of the truck were taken to Northeast Georgia Medical Center, he said.

The incident was the second serious wreck involving a Hall school bus in as many days.

Tuesday afternoon, Stephanie Tench, 52, of Cleveland, died after hitting a Hall County school bus that authorities said had pulled out in front of Tench's Mitsubishi Gallant on Cleveland Avenue near Gainesville.
