The man accused in a triple homicide in DeKalb County was found in Virginia.
Brian Levern Gupton was arrested in Portsmouth, Va., on Thursday. Police saw Gupton getting into a vehicle around 9:30 p.m. When police tried to stop the vehicle, Gupton fled and hid under another vehicle but was located and arrested.
Gupton is accused of shooting two men and a women at the Crystal Point Apartments in south DeKalb on Nov. 21, 2012. Their bodies were found around 1:20 a.m. in the parking lot, authorities said.
“Detectives believe the trio were at the location meeting with the suspect in reference to a dispute over the theft of money,” police spokesman Mekka Parish told the AJC via email last November. “During this encounter, the suspect pulled out a weapon and began firing, striking the three victims.”
Gupton’s arraignment was continued until April 5.
