DeKalb County Police will be handing out candy instead of traffic tickets Saturday at the force’s second annual “Trunk or Treat” event.

The free event is scheduled for 2-5 p.m. outside headquarters at 1960 West Exchange Place in Tucker.

Officers say this is one day a year they encourage. They will be looking for families dressed in costumes.

In addition to candy, the department will offer free face-painting, police spokesman Officer Jason Gagnon said.
