DeKalb County will demolish six blighted properties at the Hillsides Condos on Friday, Aug. 30. Since 2017, DeKalb County CEO Michael Thurmond has enhanced county blight fighting initiatives to address derelict properties with the county demolishing or abating more than 300 property in two years.

“The county has established a process that focuses on improving quality of life and mitigating negative impacts such as increased crime and health risks,” said DeKalb County CEO Michael Thurmond.

Thurmond will be joined by the Board of Commissioners and DeKalb County staff 9 a.m. Friday, Aug. 30 at The Hillsides Condos, 11 Quail Run

Building Number 8. Units 11, 12, 13, 14A, 14B, 15 of the Quail Run Condos will be demolished.
