DeKalb County is altering its trash and recycling pickup schedule next week in observance of Christmas.

If your regular collection day is Monday or Tuesday, your schedule next week will not change. But DeKalb sanitation crews will not pick up trash and recycling on Christmas, which falls on Wednesday.

To make up for that, the county is shifting collection days for the rest of the week:

  • Customers whose regular collection day is Wednesday will be serviced on Thursday, Dec. 26.
  • Customers whose regular collection day is Thursday will be serviced on Friday, Dec. 27.

The sanitation division’s administrative office, the Central and North Transfer Stations and the Seminole Road Landfill will also be closed on Christmas and will reopen on Thursday.
