The DeKalb school board Monday approved $72,600 to cover annual fees to AdvancED, the Georgia-based company that accredits local schools and districts. The expenditure was included in the 2010-2011 budget, and covers the cost of services and support associated with the accreditation process, according to the district. The total breaks down to $550 for each of DeKalb's accredited school sites. AdvancED is the parent company of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.
