No one was injured in a fire at the Hidden Woods Apartments in DeKalb late Thursday afternoon.

A six-unit building suffered extensive damage, according to Capt. Eric Jackson with DeKalb County Fire Department.

It took about 35 minutes to extinguish the fire, Jackson said. "We are attributing this fire to being a kitchen fire," he said.

Eleven adults and 12 children were displaced in the blaze, which started around 5:30 p.m. Jackson said the Red Cross was offering assistance for those who lost their homes.

The complex is located seven miles east of downtown Atlanta, near I-285 and north of I-20.
