Gwinnett County police believe an argument between two men led to fatal gunfire Friday afternoon.
Officers arriving at 1295 Mill Shyre Way near Lawrenceville shortly before 3 p.m. found a deceased man in the driveway, according to Cpl. Jake Smith with Gwinnett police.
The victim and the alleged shooter apparently knew each other, but police declined to elaborate on their relationship. The names of the two men were not released.
Investigators believe a man holding a wooden dowel about the size of a baseball bat attacked the homeowner in the driveway, and the other man shot him in self defense. The homeowner was cooperating with police and was not under arrest, Smith said.
The investigation into the incident continued Friday night.
Mill Shyre Way is located near Prospect Road, off Old Peachtree Road.
