Children were led out of a northwest Atlanta day care Wednesday morning after construction crews a hit gas line causing a leak nearby, a fire spokesman said.

Atlanta fire and emergency services officials led 85 children at the Kids Time day care to a MARTA bus, which took them to a Hollywood Road day care location during the evacuation, Atlanta fire Sgt. Cortez Stafford said.

The children were between six weeks and 12 years old, Stafford to told Channel 2 Action News.

The leak occurred about 9:30 a.m. in the 500 block of Hamilton E. Holmes Drive, Stafford said. No injuries were reported.

Hamilton E. Holmes was blocked at Baker Road, but has since reopened.

Service was restored to the area about 2:30 p.m., according to Channel 2.
