Happy news, leadfoot. Maybe you’ll be able to use that stimulus check to cover your speeding ticket.

DeKalb County announced Monday that traffic court hearings previously scheduled through May 13 have been suspended until further notice. The move is part of a moratorium on "non-essential" court functions put in place across the state during the coronavirus pandemic.

Alleged violators will receive notice of a new court date in the mail.

In a news release, officials said the DeKalb County solicitor-general has also agreed to review certain cases which may be resolved without a court appearance.

If you wish to resolve your case remotely and are not contacted to do so, you may email dcrcinfo@dekalbcountyga.gov.

Otherwise, fines can be paid online at https://payments.myfivepoint.com/dekalb/web/.

For more information, contact the traffic division call center at 404-294-2099.
