A Dallas woman died following a wreck Wednesday afternoon in Cobb County.
The wreck happened around 1:45 p.m. on Dallas Highway near the intersections with Casteel and Old Hamilton road, near Marietta, Cobb County police said.
Police identified the crash victim as 45-year-old Kimberly Michelle Nichols, a passenger in a 2002 Volkswagen Cabriolet that was eastbound on Dallas Highway and attempting to make a left turn onto northbound Old Hamilton Road.
While turning left, the Volkswagen was struck by the driver of a Mustang, Karen Lynn Flury, 40, of Dallas. She was transported by ambulance to WellStar Kennestone Hospital.
The driver of the Volkswagen, identified only as a 16-year-old male, was transported to WellStar Kennestone Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Charges are expected to be filed against him in juvenile court.
