A Cumming man ended his first day on his new job with a $250,000 bonus from the Georgia lottery.

On his way home from his new truck driving job, Gerry McCormick stopped by Al's Quik Stop in Dahlonega to buy a biscuit and a $5 lottery ticket.

McCormick, 45, said he bought the Atlanta Falcons In The House instant ticket because the Falcons are his favorite NFL team.

“I went to the car and scratched it and was as dumbfounded as can be,” he said.

Right now, the father of two says he has no plans for the money.

“I’m going to do absolutely nothing but put it in the bank and look at it.”

Al’s Quick Stop is at 1080 Dahlonega Highway in Cumming.
