Crime focus of community meeting
Atlanta City Councilwoman Joyce Sheperd has scheduled an emergency public safety meeting Monday evening to address crime concerns in neighborhoods near Atlanta Technical College.
Representatives from the police department's gang and narcotics unit will be there, along with officials from the Fulton County District Attorney's office and the city's Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs department.
The meeting will be held at Rice Memorial Presbyterian Church, 1515 Brewer Blvd. It's scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
Police recently arrested nine alleged members of the 30 Deep Gang in the area. Police also said a family was carjacked at gunpoint in the area.
