Approximately 200 residents turned out Tuesday evening for the Peachtree Corners City Council meeting to voice their concerns about a Crowell Brothers Funeral Home request for a special use permit to build and operate a crematory at its Peachtree Industrial Boulevard location.

Representatives from the community expressed concern a crematory with only a 120 foot buffer between it and the closest residential neighborhood, and within a one half mile of 11 residential developments, schools and athletic fields was undesirable.

Following the public hearing, the council voted unanimously to deny the request.
