Marietta councilman loses in appellate court
The Georgia Court of Appeals on Thursday decided against Marietta councilman Philip Goldstein after his almost three-year legal battle with the city. Goldstein filed an appeal in November after Cobb Superior Court Judge George Kreeger ruled that the councilman's company, Marietta Properties, LLC, would have to pay Marietta $50,000 in legal fees. Goldstein sued the city in 2011 after Marietta lowered maximum building heights on the Marietta Square.
