A Cobb County woman is accused of trying to run over the man who came to repossess her pickup truck. Then, when the man jumped into the bed of the truck, she allegedly took off a high rate of speed, according to police.

Monica Ann Brown, 38, was being held Monday in the Cobb County Jail on aggravated assault, kidnapping and reckless conduct charges, according to booking records. Brown was arrested Tuesday at her Austell-area home and was being held on $50,000 bond, jail records show.

Shortly before 1:30 a.m. Tuesday, Brown got into her 2001 red Dodge Ram, put it in reverse and attempted to run over the man attempting to repossess it, according to an arrest warrant obtained by the AJC.

"The victim stated that he then jumped into the bed of the pickup for cover because he feared [the woman] was going run him over," the warrant states. "After jumping in the bed of the pickup, [the woman] took off at a high rate of speed."

The truck's engine could be heard racing and tires squealing during the victim's call to 911, the warrant states. At one point, Brown allegedly stopped the truck, yelled at the man and then blocked him from getting out of the truck, according to police. Then, she took off again, knowing the man was still in the back of the truck, police said.

Brown later admitted to police she had driven 45 mph on a road where the speed limit is 35 mph, the warrant states. She was arrested by Cobb County police about 20 minutes after the incident began, according to records.
