A 40-year-old Clarkston woman who was trying to cross a south DeKalb County street late Sunday night was struck and killed by a sport-utility vehicle.
The incident happened about 10 p.m. as the woman tried to cross Moreland Avenue, DeKalb police said.
The victim, Michelle Turner, was not in a marked crosswalk, and lighting is poor in the area, police said.
The driver of the Jeep Cherokee that struck Turner stayed at the accident scene, on Moreland near Constitution Road, and was not charged, Channel 2 Action News reported.
