A Cherokee County man caught stealing copper from air conditioning units ran when a police officer tried to stop him Friday night.
The next day, 32-year-old Wichita Pruitt returned to the Woodstock Parkway office building to get his vehicle. But this time, Woodstock officers were waiting on him.
Pruitt, of Ball Ground, was arrested around 1:40 p.m. Saturday and charged with felony theft by taking, obstruction and possession of tools for the commission of a crime, said Brittany Duncan, police spokeswoman.
Pruitt was booked into the Cherokee County jail, where he remained Monday. Investigators are working to determine if Pruitt has been involved in similar crimes in the area, Duncan said.
